Job Description

Join Scotch Oakburn College as a Learning Support Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. Working within our welcoming Junior School community, you will support students with individual learning needs to access the curriculum, build confidence and learn alongside their peers.

In collaboration with classroom teachers and the Inclusive Education team, you will provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment. This role is ideal for someone who is caring, patient and organised, with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting each child’s learning, wellbeing and potential.

This maximum-term position is available on a part-time or full-time basis from Term 4 2026 until the end of the 2027 academic year, working Monday to Friday during academic weeks at our Elphin Campus.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience supporting primary-aged students with diverse learning needs, including students with disability or autism.
  • A Certificate III or Diploma in School Based Education Support, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
  • A calm, patient and inclusive approach to supporting student learning, behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Strong organisation, time management and technology skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, follow Individual Education Plans and provide clear observations and feedback.
  • A genuine commitment to child safety, professional learning and helping every student thrive.
